Azonto - FUSE ODG ft. Tiffany

Perfect saturday morning dance music - doing this right now with my son.

“we walk over them haters” - try it - so fun!

Blame it on the Bossa Nova - Eydie Gorme

This always put me in a dancing mood!

I want to break free - Queen

I love Freddie Mercury! such a great song writer and powerful vocals.

Arlene - General Echo

A dancehall and dub classic, but many non Djs typically forget that it was done by General Echo as he doesn’t have many other hits- includes the popular phrases “under 17 or over 16, a beg you rock and come in” and “arlene a mussi dream you deh dream”

Ring the Alarm - Tenor Saw

A classic dancehall tune that gets played at every session and dance - used to put people in the groove and signal a sound clash between two sound systems

Sound clash  - (Jamaican meaning) happens when you have 2 sound systems in the same vicinity who compete with each other with a mixture of Dubs and regular music. Skills are assessed on originality of the dubs as well as the DJs ability to mix and counterattack the dubs from the opposing sound.

Althea and Donna - Top Ranking

Top Ranking - means VIP in Jamaican popular culture/ and Patois.

Trash - means well dressed in Patois as in “mi trash and ready”

Bam bam - Sister Nancy

No no no  - Dawn Penn

Telephone Love - JC Lodge

One of my favorite Jamaican love songs from JC  - was also redone( sampled) by Shabba Ranks

Girlie Girlie - Sophie George
